Sonoma County wineries are exploring new ways to bring crowds back to wine country. One approach I see more and more is wineries embracing happy hour style events - incorporating food and wine, and at best, live music into a locals focused evening.
My wife and I recently explored some of our favorites and discovered new options that I'd love to share:
Dutton Goldfiled Winery - Third Thursday Happy Hour
We had the pleasure of enjoying their debut celebration for the season. Along with complimentary charcuterie, they had a nice selection of wines by the glass and provided live music from Jacob Phillip Benning. Future dates are set for June 18th and July 16th.
Russian River Vineyards - Thursday Gatherings
This was a favorite last year. Russian River Vineyards has really dialed in this event with wonderful small bites - ready to order - and a mix of their wines and local beers. There's something for everyone. Seating is throughout their rustic garden and picnic area. Always featuring a local artist, strumming original and cover songs. This is a lovely evening out every Thursday through the warmer months!
You'll see on their events roster, the fourth Thursday of each month through October, Benovia Winery is hosting a happy hour evening. Complimentary "lite bites" are served and wines are available by the glass. This is one I'm looking forward to trying for the first time this season!
