THE SONOMA COUNTY SCOOP
💕 Dear Friends 💕
Summer is often defined by long warm days and golden light, but at its heart, it’s about more than sunshine. The long days provide us with an opportunity for more connection and reflection. Whether we’re gathering around a shared table, offering support across state lines, or reimagining where and how we live, the lazy days of summer can invite us to slow down and engage more deeply. (Remember the "I'm bored" late summers of our youth?)
Wherever you find yourself this midsummer—whether in your garden, your kitchen, on the golf course, on the pickle ball court, or planning your last summer getaway—we hope this season brings a sense of purpose and connection.
Warm Regards,
Tammra, Sheela, Cindy, Evan & Veronica

OUR HEARTS ARE WITH TEXAS
As the devastating floods continue to impact communities across Texas, our hearts are with the residents, first responders and communities. Watching the images and hearing the stories is heartbreaking. We know what it means to live through a disaster and to face the enormity of a rebuild. We have a deep sense of connection and compassion to those who are living through it. It also reminds us how powerful support, both near and far, can be.
We hope you'll join us in extending a hand, a heart, or some funds. Every little bit makes a difference.
If you’re looking for ways to help, here are a few ideas:
Donate to local relief organizations like the Central Texas Food Bank or Austin Disaster Relief Network
Contribute to housing and rebuilding efforts through Habitat for Humanity Texas
Support pet rescues like Austin Pets Alive!, working to protect displaced animals
The Fast Growing
S l o w F o o d Movement
What is the Slow Food movement? At its core, Slow Food is about making food that is good, clean, and fair. That means it should taste delicious, be grown or raised in ways that protect the environment and animal welfare, and be accessible to everyone. It’s not just about what is on your plate, but the entire journey it takes to get there.
While the movement began in Italy, it has quietly shaped the upper tiers of the food and wine world in the U.S. And Northern California is one of its most vibrant outposts. The North Bay, with its culture of culinary integrity, is home to many Slow Food-certified providers. Check out the growing list here! Many of our favorites are certified, with a shout out to Quail and Condor, Sarmentine, and Goguette bakeries, Bricoleur, Davero Farms and Winery, Handline, Spinster Sisters Restaurant and Altamont General Store to name a few.
Terra Madre is a Slow Food gathering to celebrate the bounty of holistic agriculture, food, wine, and healthy living. This year marks the first-ever Terra Madre Americas. The U.S. debut will be in Sacramento — just a short drive from Sonoma County on September 26-28, 2025. Traditionally hosted every two years in Turin, Italy, this celebration will feature demonstrations, classes and tastings to expand your knowledge and appreciation. Expect the best of California's food scene to be there. Think of it as part food-and-wine festival and part healthy-agriculture showcase: modern-day Bacchanal—with values.
SUMMERTIME: STONOMA COUNTY STYLE
HOT SPRINGS EDITION
Looking for a rejuvenating summer escape? The North Bay is home to some great hot springs. Here are five local spots to unwind and reset:
Morton’s Warm Springs in Glen Ellen offers a laid-back, family-friendly experience with seasonal warm mineral pools nestled among oaks and redwoods. It’s an deal family-friendly location and open May - October for casual weekend picnics and refreshing dips.
For a more indulgent retreat, head to Calistoga, where classic resorts await. Indian Springs is a historic gem featuring a massive mineral pool, mud baths, and chic bungalow lodging. Just down the road, Dr. Wilkinson’s Backyard Resort blends retro charm with modern wellness, offering geothermal pools and iconic spa treatments. And Solage in Calistoga, part of the Auberge Resorts, as well Fairmont Mission Inn & Spa in the town of Sonoma both offer an upscale experience featuring healing mineral waters.
REAL ESTATE MARKET SNAPSHOT
The combination of a record number of homes for sale along with shy buyers taking note of the interest rates and the economic environment has led to a new landscape. Longer days on market and price reductions are increasing as sellers flex to find the appropriate market price for their home. This current market demands that property positioning and pricing is nailed at market launch - and that usually means launching at or just under the expected sale price and preparing for market time. Newly built and unique homes that offer something rare have the edge in this market.
Here is a highlight of June...
Here is a snapshot of the number of homes on the market. The white bars are the previous years - there is 37% more inventory than last year. This is Good News for buyers.
Median days on market was the highest reading for the past 5 years i during a June market.
The number of actual sales is similar to the past two years - even up! But the big difference is the amount of available homes for sale.
Because of so many listings available, the actual percentage of homes accepting offers is smaller. This absorption rate is the lowest in the last 5 years in Sonoma County and most Bay Area markets.
This market has been named the "The Post-Covid Blues." While sales have inched up from 2023, the progress is slow. Interest rate improvements could make a big impact.

2624 Hidden Valley Drive, Santa Rosa
3 Beds, 2 Baths, 1867+/- Sqft, 0.21+/- Acres
Represented Sellers
A Realtor on the East Bay found us as a result of our past sales in the Hidden Valley and downtown Santa Rosa neighborhoods. She was looking for the perfect fit to represent her mother in selling the family home. Our experience in project management was a bonus as this home needed a new roof, carpet, interior paint, appliances, asbestos removal and a front/backyard makeover - with only the realtors in town. :-)
After months of market preparation, we launched our 3-Phase Marketing Plan, and the buyer interest was outstanding. Our seller received 3 offers on the home and sold over asking with a 10 day escrow. The family was thrilled - and so were we!
